A record 230 cyclists participated in Schneider Children's 3rd Cycle Challenge organized by the Association of Friends of Schneider Children's Hospital. Cyclists enjoyed two days of road cycling in the Golan Heights and a third in the area of Petach Tikva. A huge welcome awaited the cyclists at the conclusion of the event as hospital management, staff and hospitalized children gathered in the hospital's outdoor plaza.
Total proceeds from the event amounted to NIS600,000 (about US$160,000), which will benefit the Educational Center at Schneider Children's.
Among participants were representatives of business firms including ACI, Bank Mizrachi Tefachot, the Israel Air Force's Technical Information Services, and members of Clalit Health Services. The 3rd Cycle Challenge was sponsored by Mega Superstores, Hapoalim Bank, IDB, Gazit Globe, Bezeq International, Leumicard, Shlomo Sixet, Ituran, Phillips and more. The Petach Tikva Police Department and the Cycling Unit of the community as well as the Petach Tikva Civil Guard provided assistance.
