Friends of Schneider Children’s would like to express its grateful appreciation to the Sophie Dichter-Bronstein and the Efraim and Freda Winter Endowment Funds. As a result of their support, Friends of Schneider Children’s was able to award three research grants at the annual Prof. Rina Zaizov Memorial Symposium.
The award of research grants at the annual conference commemorating Professor Rina Zaizov has already become a tradition. At the conference held this year on June 28, three young investigators received grants from Friends of Schneider Children's: Anna Greenspan and Yaakov Sverdlov, staff members of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Laboratory from the Sophie Dichter-Bronstein Endowment Fund, founded by Yehuda Dichter of Antwerp, Belgium, and who arrived especially for the occasion to present the grants in person.
Another grant, from the Efraim and Freda Winter Endowment Fund, was awarded to Dr. Sara Elitzur, a senior physician at the Hemato-Oncology Department. The Efraim and Freda Winter Endowment Fund for research was founded by Freda Winter, who volunteers at the Schneider Children's Hospital , after Efraim Winter had succumbed to cancer.
