This year marks my 10th year helping Schneider Children’s and I am grateful to every one of you who has contacted me and shared in my vision for the best possible hospital for children in Israel. Australian Friends is unique among local charities as it sends 100% of all donations directly to Israel. We are constantly broadening our scope of activities, appreciate the generosity of all those who have joined us and wish to welcome more people to join us in our common effort to help the children hospitalized at Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel.
Sadly, Mrs. Gini Bachrach, a dear friend of Schneider Children’s who supported immigrant patients, medical research as well as the activity of the Child-at-Risk Program at the hospital, passed away recently. Despite ill health, she kept an exemplary commitment to Schneider Children’s and Australian Friends, and leaves behind an inspirational legacy that will continue to improve the lives of countless Israeli children.
In the last two years, we have been proud to share the Bnei Mitzvah of Yonatan Elbaum, Amira Kranz-Moshinsky, Cohava Rubinstein-Sturgess, Benji Sharp, Gitai Ifergan, Chaim Silver and Ari Miller. I also wish to thank all our friends who have celebrated significant birthdays with us, and our steadfast friends at Bialik College Junior School and
Messada College in Sydney.
Another endowment fund, The Ezra Fund of Melbourne, was instrumental in purchasing a monitor for the Gastroenterology Institute.
We are most grateful to Sue Grinwald for her generous gesture of dedicating all her birthday party presents towards the children treated at Schneider Children's. The donation was designated to the purchase of an infusion pump.
Lastly, my last project for 2010 which sponsored MRI Cardiology Fellow Dr. Amichay Rotstein from Schneider Children’s, owes much to the generous and committed support of many caring families and the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. In particular, I wanted to single out our friends Mr. Les and Mrs. Eva Erdi, Mr. David Smorgon and Family, Mrs. Debbie Dadon, Mrs. Heloise Waislitz and The Pratt Foundation, Mr. Nir and Mrs. Lai Pizmony, Mr. Michael and Mrs. Lisa Borowick, Family Lehrer, Mr. Eddie Kutner and the Central Equity Children’s Fund, and Mrs. Seyma Lederman. Thank you so much for making this historic friendship between our two hospitals take place and for facilitating Dr. Rotstein’s training.
Last but not least, we would like to express our deep appreciation to Pauline Wroby, who dedicated the gifts received on the occasion of her 50th birthday towards the purchase of an Ophthalmoscope for the Eye Clinic at Schneider Children’s.
We hope to continue to build our wonderful network of friends and support the needs of the hospital and the hospitalized children. Thank you so much.
With sincere gratitude,
